Description: Staff at the Omineca regional office work to ensure that the diverse activities that take place in the region are in balance with recreation and conservation objectives set by the Province, in accordance with the Ministry’s Business Plan. Three types of ecosystem monitoring take place in the region: compliance, effectiveness, and biodiversity. They address whether people are complying with environmental standards, whether these standards are having an effect in the environment, and informing and improving policy and practices for ecosystem conservation and management affecting biodiversity.
