Description: An audit was conducted to determine whether the government and the Ministry of Forests, Lands, and Natural Resource Operations (FLNRO) have established a sound basis for managing cumulative effects. The report concluded that FLNRO is not adequately addressing cumulative effects in its recent natural resource use decisions in northwestern B.C. Further, for the assessment framework to succeed, government must clarify how social, economic, and environmental expectation apply to managing Crown land and determine how the assessment framework will be used to support decisions.
