Description: The Abandoned Mines in Northern Canada Project was created to study the historical impacts of abandoned mines on Indigenous communities in northern Canada. This research highlighted the social and environmental changes that large mining projects brought to northern communities and the ongoing impacts of these mines after they were abandoned. The project included six Project Co-Leaders from Memorial University and the University of Winnipeg.
